Aparna Sundar
Senior User Researcher, QuickSight, Amazon Web Services
Dr. Aparna Sundar is a cognitive scientist and currently a senior user researcher at AWS. She conducts research with QuickSight customers and users of other AWS analytics solutions. She was a Marketing professor for a decade (UW, UO, UC and Virginia Tech) and as an academic researcher, she published extensively on topics that investigated how visual design influences human perception, categorization, inference formation, and behavior. Prior to academe she was a designer and worked in the branded interiors space providing design solutions to top brands including Starbucks, Seattle's Best Coffee, Macy's, Dick's Sporting Goods, JCPenny and others.
In addition to serving on the AASCRE board, Aparna serves on the advisory board of The Design Thinking Program at Tombolo Institute at Bellevue College, which is in the heart of Seattle's tech hub. Tombolo Institute at Bellevue College provides forward-looking professional training designed for today’s lifestyles and the future of work. Aparna teaches a user research course at the University of Washington and loves networking with the research and design community.
